How Moon Phase for Android and this presentation website handle data, including advertising, usage analytics and crash reporting.
Developer and contact
App: Moon Phase for Android (com.moonphasecalendar.weather).
Developer: Thermometr App Dev
The app does not require registration or offer user accounts. For questions or requests about your data, contact us by email.
Data and its use
The selected place, name, coordinates and time zone are used on the device to calculate Moon and Sun information. You can select a bundled city, enter coordinates or request an approximate location from Android. Calculations do not require a calculation server.
The app stores your place, appearance and calendar preferences, introduction status and event reminders in private local storage. Reminders include the event time, time zone, enabled state and notification time.
Chosen tip topics and limited topic-opening counts and timestamps are stored locally to order topics. They are not included in the app’s custom analytics events. The app’s backup rules exclude interests and reading history from Android cloud backup and device transfer.
Compass readings are used while the compass is active. A separate approximate phone location can be used to apply magnetic declination without changing the calendar’s selected place. There is no background location tracking.
The release configuration enables Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics. The app sends fixed screen names to Analytics and adds the current screen and build type to crash reports. Its custom events and keys do not include selected coordinates, place names, calendar dates, tip interests or form input. No app-defined user ID is set. Google SDKs also process their own technical data.
App permissions
Approximate location is requested when you choose to find your location or correct north in the compass. It is optional: city selection and manual coordinates remain available. You can withdraw permission in Android settings.
On Android 13 and later, notification permission is requested when you enable an event reminder. Declining it does not prevent calendar use. Reminders are scheduled locally through Android, without a remote push service; battery management may delay delivery.
Internet and network-state access support advertising, consent requests, analytics and crash reporting. The app can restore future reminders after a restart or app update.
The app does not request contacts, system-calendar, photo, camera or microphone access. Photography tips do not access your pictures.
Third-party services
Google AdMob supplies banner advertising. Its SDK can process IP addresses, device and advertising identifiers, ad interactions and diagnostics for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention. An IP address can indicate a general location. The app does not add your selected calendar coordinates or tip interests to ad requests.
Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) requests advertising choices where required and controls whether ads can be requested. When Google requires a privacy-options entry, it is available in About. Advertising choices do not switch off Analytics or Crashlytics.
Google Analytics for Firebase measures app usage using events, session and app-instance identifiers, and device and app information. Advertising-ID collection and advertising-personalisation signals are disabled for Analytics; this does not disable AdMob’s separate data processing.
Firebase Crashlytics sends crash traces, installation and session identifiers, and device and app diagnostics to help fix errors. Analytics is disabled in debug builds; Crashlytics remains enabled in debug and release. The app currently has no user-facing Analytics or Crashlytics switch.
These services are provided by Google and may process data outside your country under its applicable terms and safeguards. The links below explain their data practices and controls.
Security, storage and deletion
Preferences are stored in Android’s private app storage. Google SDK connections use encrypted transport. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
Local settings remain until you change them, clear app storage or uninstall the app. Android backup or device transfer may retain and restore settings other than interests and reading history, depending on your system and backup settings. Manage existing backups separately through those settings.
Google Analytics retention for user and event data follows the Analytics project settings and Google’s policies. Aggregated reports may follow different rules. Crashlytics retains crash reports and associated identifiers for 90 days before beginning removal from live and backup systems.
Google retains advertising data under its policies. Clearing app storage or uninstalling does not automatically erase information already sent to Google or existing Android backups.
There are no user accounts to delete. Send data-related requests to the email above. Finding or deleting an SDK record depends on the available identifiers and the service’s procedures.
Your choices
You can use a city or manual coordinates instead of location permission, and change notification permissions in Android settings. Declining these permissions does not stop Google SDKs from processing their separate network and technical data.
In Interests, choose topics, disable automatic ordering or restore the original order. Restoring the order clears local reading counters and timestamps, while keeping selected interests. Individual reminders can be turned off in Events.
Where available, review advertising choices in About. Android also provides advertising-ID and other privacy controls. These controls do not delete all previously collected data.
To remove local app data, use Android Settings → Apps → Moon Phase → Storage → Clear storage; labels vary by device. To remove this website’s saved language, clear its site data in your browser.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correction, deletion or objection. Requests should go to the privacy contact. There is currently no general in-app analytics or crash-collection switch.
This website
The presentation’s own files contain no registration, contact forms, analytics tags or advertising SDKs. They use browser localStorage only to remember the language under moonPhaseLanguage. If storage is unavailable, switching still works without saving the choice.
When you load the site, the hosting service receives connection information such as your IP address and requested pages. Website request logs are retained for no more than 30 days.
Images, scripts and fonts are served with the site, without an external font service. Following a Google Play, NASA or Google policy link takes you to that provider’s website and privacy terms.
Children and age restrictions

Policy changes
Updates will be posted on this page with a revised document date. Changes to data practices must also be reflected in the app’s disclosures and store information.
